Editorial principles
Important: afetoncesi.com is not an official body or emergency service. In an emergency, call 112. This site provides preparedness information only.
All content and design decisions follow the principles below. They are non-negotiable for the core experience.
1. Trust first
Accuracy, citation and honesty come before traffic or engagement. We do not use fake urgency, dark patterns or misleading links. We stand behind what we show.
2. Official-source-based
Preparedness advice is based on official or widely recognised sources (e.g. AFAD, MGM, Kızılay, e-Devlet, 112). Sources appear at the end of each page or in the relevant section.
3. No fear-based content
We describe risks and steps in a calm, factual way. We do not use sensational or fear-driven content. The goal is to help people prepare, not to create anxiety.
4. Separation of information and commerce
Information pages are separate from commercial content. Preparedness content is not written or ordered to favour specific brands or products. See How we are funded for details.
5. Accessibility and simplicity
Language is simple and direct; we use headings and lists for scannable content. We aim for a mobile-first, fast and readable site.
Updates and corrections
We update content when official guidance changes or when errors are reported. A Last updated date may appear on pages. The correction process is summarised on our Source policy page.
